Tom Cave, 17, is set to become Wales’s youngest rally driver after he passed his driving test last week. Cave will be able to take the start in his home race, the Wales Rally GB. Cave has been rally racing for the last two years.
The Wales Rally GB, however, includes stages that are raced on regular roads. For those stages, drivers must hold a regulation driver’s licence. Cave announced his passing of the test on his Web site.
He wrote: “I’m delighted to pass my test today. It was the last hurdle to get over before I could take the start of Wales Rally GB and it’s a huge relief to have it out of the way. Now I can concentrate on the rally and my preparations…”![]()
