8-time Grand Slam champion Jimmy Connors has been charged after engaging in a dispute with a man at a college basketball game between UC Santa Barbara and North Carolina.
Connors, according to his business manager, was provoked by a person in the crowd. He was asked to leave the campus following the altercation and was then arrested after he refused. He said he wanted to wait for his son.
Business manager Karen Scott said Connors was “extremely disappointed and embarrassed” because of the fight and arrest. Connors was the world number one tennis player for 5 years during the 70s and was known for his temper.
