Snow blowers are already blowing snow building the 70 foot high mountain in NYC’s East River Park. Its the Winter Jam NYC, free for all to snowboarding, snowshoe, cross country ski and sled down a chute.

A snowman building contest will take place along with music and snowboard demonstrations.
It’s the one day a year that the denizens of NYC can enjoy the colder sports for no cost.

Last year the event was held in Central Park. This year the newly refurbished East River Park in the Lower East Side will host the event.
