The Hudson Valley Renegades have come under fire for their ‘ball-less baseball’ promotion which would see only females admitted for the first five innings of a game. The event was billed as a “celebration of femininity and independence”.

The faux pas has cost the club an event sponsor and drawn the interest of county authorities who are investigating whether the event might violate the 14th Amendment and/or New York human rights laws. The stadium is owned by the county.

Owner Jeff Goldklang defended the promotion, saying it was a dig at political correctness. He states that the name of the event has nothing to do with the fact that females don’t have testicles, claiming that connotation is a coincidence.
