  • Tragedy struck in the Tyson house on Monday when Exodus Tyson, 7, found his sister, 4, hanging from an exercise machine. Her neck was wrapped in a cord underneath the treadmill's console. She was taking off life support today and pronounced dead at 11:45am. Mike Tyson was in Las Vegas at the time of the accident, but flew immediately back to Phoenix upon hearing the news. Police say there is nothing suspicious in the death and are describing it as a tragic accident. #
  • Devon: 45-year-old Alan Perrin, a former Royal Marine who had to retire when he was badly wounded by an explosion, has hit a hole-in-one despite having only one arm and only partial sight in one eye. After playing his opening shot Perrin and his partner spent several minutes looking for the ball on and around the green before deciding to move on so as not to hold others up. The following group found the ball in the hole and called him back. "I took up golf because it is one sport where the rules are the same if you are disabled," said Perrin. He plays off a handicap of 28. #
  • German tennis player Sarah Gronert has been ruled eligible to play at the highest level by the WTA. Questions had been raised over her gender as she was born with male as well as female genitalia. Her male genitalia has been removed. "There is no girl who can hit serves like that, not even Venus Williams. I don't know if it's fair that she can compete or not. She does have an advantage..." said the coach of a player recently defeated by Gronert. The 22-year-old, ranked 555 in the world, considered leaving tennis over the dispute. There is another transsexual currently playing on the women's circuit. In 1977 Renee Richards reached a world ranking of 22 after a sex change. #
  • During a game described by the referee as a "normal day at the office" a Chorlton Villa player has been yellow carded for "ungentlemanly conduct" after it was ruled he distracted an opposition player taking a penalty by deliberately breaking wind. The goal keeper saved the 'distracted' shot but couldn't stop the retaken penalty. He was sent off for criticising the referee. Minutes later another player was dismissed for questioning the call. Villa eventually won 6-4 with only just 8 players. "It was a mistake for any of my team to get involved. The referee has applied the letter of the law to the absolute button. What you would hope for is that there can be room for some common sense as well," said Chorlton Villa's manager Ian Treadwell. #
  • Germany: The Energie Cottbus football club is giving fans who travelled 380 miles to watch them play a refund after they played 'timidly' and were crushed 4-0 by Schalke. They have won only one of their last seven games and face relegation. "By refunding the cost of admission for their supporters, the red and whites would like to apologise for the pitiful performance which they displayed at the Veltins Arena," said a statement boy the club. #
