I’ve never used methamphetamine,” he said when asked.NASCAR claims that Mayfield has been using methamphetamines for many years and says they have affidavits from his stepmother who says she has seen him use the drug before a race in Darlington and on at least 30 other occasions. Mayfield claims that NASCAR is paying his stepmother for the sworn testimony for money and that she also has tried to blackmail him.   • 24-year-old tennis star Mathieu Montcourt died of a heart attack in the stairwell of his Paris apartment building, according to post-mortem tests. Montcourt was ranked 119 in the world.The French Tennis Federation said: Mathieu was an enthusiastic young man, passionate, and extremely appreciated for his kindness and politeness."   • The Hudson Valley Renegades have come under fire for their 'ball-less baseball' promotion which would see only females admitted for the first five innings of a game. The event was billed as a "celebration of femininity and independence".The faux pas has cost the club an event sponsor and drawn the interest of county authorities who are investigating whether the event might violate the 14th Amendment and/or New York human rights laws. The stadium is owned by the county.Owner Jeff Goldklang defended the promotion, saying it was a dig at political correctness.   • Tragedy struck in the Tyson house on Monday when Exodus Tyson, 7, found his sister, 4, hanging from an exercise machine. Her neck was wrapped in a cord underneath the treadmill's console. She was taking off life support today and pronounced dead at 11:45am. Mike Tyson was in Las Vegas at the time of the accident, but flew immediately back to Phoenix upon hearing the news. Police say there is nothing suspicious in the death and are describing it as a tragic accident. Read The Rest
  • Devon: 45-year-old Alan Perrin, a former Royal Marine who had to retire when he was badly wounded by an explosion, has hit a hole-in-one despite having only one arm and only partial sight in one eye. After playing his opening shot Perrin and his partner spent several minutes looking for the ball on and around the green before deciding to move on so as not to hold others up. The following group found the ball in the hole and called him back. "I took up golf because it is one sport where the rules are the same if you are disabled," said Perrin.
